Actually, this isn't information we need. User groups don't care if
you're a newbie or not as long as you can reasonably demonstrate that
you have a clue going in. Avoid reposting the same question twice in
a week, it generally only annoys people into not helping you.

If you don't have it yet, get aptitude. Hit / and search for
openoffice.org. When you find the package, you can hit enter to find
out what packages it depends on. Hit q to back out. Hit _ to purge
it (and I think any packages that it depends on that nothing else is
using). Finally, hit g to see what it's going to do, and hit g again
to go for it. q will quit. You'll find aptitude's pretty damn handy.
