startx as a normal user

On my laptop I made sure that runlevel 2 doesn't start up X and fluxbox.

So now when I want to, I type

$ startx

and I get a message about setting a nice value to 0 instead of -10 as requested. Then fluxbox shortly shows up.

I don't think that I notice any problems in terms of performance. Should I be running it at a nice value of -10?

I guess I just ask because while I can run it at 0 and I have, I just want to know what is considered correct or proper.

I would assume there would be a performance boost, if anything, with a nice level of -10. Other than that, I don't know if it is considered "wrong" to simply startx as a user.

Thanks,
Gianfranco
