Problem with X

Somewhere between an apt-get upgrade of unstable woody
and the system crashing twice while trying to get a second
ethernet card going I seem to have trashed my x.

I have tried reinstalling various x-windows packages with
no luck.

The error message I am getting is:
(EE) end of block range 0xfb < begin 0xfffffff

I can't find any reference to this in my web searches... does
anyone know what it means?

Below is the full output from startx:

X: warning; process set to priority -11 instead of requested priority -10
