Using apt-build with woody

Hello,

I downloaded the source package for 'apt-build' from testing/unstable (don't
recall which--same version, anyhow) and built and installed it on my
woody/stable system. I have some problems building a lot of packages,
however. I successfully built from source and installed (using apt-build)
both gnupg and chrony from unstable (I use binaries from stable, sources from
unstable). However, a lot of packages I've tried to install give me the
error:

Sorry, couldn't find XXXXX or XXXXX is already installed
(or try to run `apt-get clean')

However, it's not installed and it can find it, because "apt-build source
autoconf2.13" works (downloads the source), but "apt-build install
autoconf2.13" (even if I've already downloaded the source as above) doesn't
work!

Any thoughts?
