If your /etc/hosts looks like

127.0.0.1       localhost
192.168.1.1     glitch		glitch.localdomain

You'll need to have serve_aliases=on uncommented.  serve_aliases refers to
the second and subsequent names in the /etc/hosts lines - without it they're
ignored.

(If you've already fixed the problem, never mind.)
