Hrm.
I have an AMD-K6 with a eepro driver-needing NIC that, recently, began
hanging and preventing shutdown (testing)

No one seemed to have any answers, so I just

s/ifdown -a/#ifdown -a/

in /etc/init.d/networking

I believe I need to change my network card.
