I modified /etc/mkinitrd/mkinitrd.conf to have MODULES=all in order to
get the isa-pnp module in the image. However the aha1542 module still
doesn't load. As before, insmod it manually gives the maeesage

  /lib/modules/2.4.20-5.custom586.4/kernel/arch/cpuid.o/aha1542=0x134:
  Not a directory

Googling groups for "aha1542 cpuid" shows that this module has some
history with regard to the cpuid.
