I agree with this post.
It did however come with a very good basic interpreter, and the hardware
itself was quite expandable.
It had all manner of input/output ports both digital and analogue,
support rbg monitors aswell as rf (tv) output.

I grew up using one, that and the zx81.  heady days.

Exciting times indeed.
