What does diversion in dpkg -S mean

I am having trouble compiling qt-copy in that it fails to find include
XftFreetype.h

When I do a dpkg -S XftFreetype* I get

diversion by libxft2-dev from: /usr/X11R6/include/X11/Xft/XftFreetype.h
diversion by libxft2-dev to: /usr/X11R6/include/X11/Xft/XftFreetype1.h
diversion by libxft2-dev from: /usr/X11R6/include/X11/Xft/XftFreetype.h
diversion by libxft2-dev to: /usr/X11R6/include/X11/Xft/XftFreetype1.h
xlibs-dev: /usr/X11R6/include/X11/Xft/XftFreetype.h

and only a copy of XftFreetype1.h installed.

Does this text mean that the libxft2-dev package has changed the name - and if
so why?
