Try running xinit /[path-to-blackbox]/blackbox -- :1; or similar. Have a
look at the appropriate man pages. Later on you might want to edit your
.xinitrc.

Here an example:
	xsetroot -solid "#889966" &
	/usr/local/bin/bbkeys -i &
	/usr/local/bin/blackbox
