samba and vpopmail auth in debian - is it possible?

Hello,

Maybe it was already an answer for this, but I spend three days searching 
Internet (what a big trashcan!) with no success.
The problem is that we would like to have users in our PDC (under samba) to 
have one auth mechanism both for access to domain and to mail server (under 
qmail+vpopmail). 
Maybe the right solution will be to have LDAP auth with squirrelmail plugin to 
change LDAP passwods?
Could you please give me any thoughts?
