I had experimented with just about everything reported by that -
"ticker" itself is for text messages to a console (system/user
generated) and most all of the others are for KDE/Gnome/WM... Thanks for
the suggestion though.

Sorry about that - It was reporting failure to deliver to the list, in
fact it was failing to deliver to another list! ( my fault for
attempting to cross-post )
