for a CD to be recognized it must be 'finished'. or 'closed'. You cannot
put a CD with an open session on the system and expect it to work. Most all
CDROMs use the ISO9660 format (some use some extensions such as joliet or
rockridge). I do not think I have ever heard or seen of a CD that used
FAT or NTFS as the filesystem. Sounds like there may be more then 1
session on the disc, and the system cannot see the other session(s) because
they are not closed. Though luckily I have never had the pleasure of using
winXP.

also expect the file names to be garbled because most win32 CD burning
apps do not support rockridge.
