I experienced more random cut offs and was fed up with them. I
reinstalled using other isos and choose ext2 instead of ext3.
Now i don't have these random shut downs anymore. So i think
it's safe to say it wasn't a power issue but a problem with my hd
or my iso's. I'm guessing it's a harddisk problem (bad sectors?
checking the disk didn't find any however)
Anyhow, my server is up and running and that's enough for me.

Thanks for helping me find the problem.
