When you boot from binary-1 iso, you can hit F3 at the boot prompt to see
what kernels it support. you can then for instance type:
vanilla or bf24 or compact.
If you want to test this, just pop in the first cd, reboot and when you see
the
prompt hit F3.
A lot of the function keys have interesting things. Just look at the install
manual for a thorough explanation
