If you want to post the errors you are getting, try the "nohup" command.
It makes a file named "nohup.out" that you can include in your post.

More information about "nohup" can be discovered by typing "info nohup".

To get that file out of your unconnected debian box try the "mcopy" command, more information by typing "info mcopy".
