The log files are in /var/log.  Your last boot is always recorded to
/var/log/dmesg and other system stuff is is /var/log/syslog.

xfs is an X font server.  It runs on port 7100 by default.  You can
use a font server for X by adding it as the first "FontPath" in
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4 as "FontPath "unix/:7100".  There are xfs
variants that can suppliment or replace xfs as well.
