After a minimum, network capable install do these steps:
1) Change your /etc/apt/sources.list to the unstable links
2) apt-get update
3) apt-get dist-upgrade
4) apt-get install (any other software you want)

Alternatively, you may look into 'pinning' so that you can have a relatively
stable setup and just install the bleeding packages you want, instead of
having the whole box 'bleed' all over the place.
