RE: Potato upgrade to woody fails



Dear people,

Thank you for the quick response.  It seems that I had to do the
following to get things to work.

1.  run dpkg -I  for the libc6 package
2.  run ldconfig
3.  reboot due to unable to close open files
4.  successful reboot allows me to run dpkg -I *.deb
5.  am now beginning to test install.

I know this may be non standard but this was all I could think to do.
Recovering from an unsuccessful upgrade is a real problem and the
recovery itself is not pretty.  Since I had the .deb files downloaded
that I needed this became easier to handle.  Thanks for the help.
