disabling parallel downloads in dselect

Dear all,

is there any way to disable the parallel downloads in dselect?

At work where plenty of bandwidth is available, I really appreciate
that feature.  At home sitting at a CableModem link, I get data socket
timeouts.  So, I need to re-run the process.  This would be solved if
I could disable the parallel download feature.
