error during make menuconfig...
Yesterday i revived my old PC, P133, 16MB RAM,
3sX CDROM 800MB HD. i installed an my debian (Debian
GNU/Linux 2.2 r2 "Potato"). It installed fine, i then
instaled the kernel-source-2.2.18pre21. My problem is
that when i do a "make menuconfig" i get the follwing
error messgaes:
---- The Error Message ----
rm -f include/asm
( cd include ; ln -sf asm-i386 asm)
make -C scripts/lxdialog all
make[1]: Entering directory
`/usr/src/kernel-source-2.2.18pre21/scripts/lxdialog'
gcc -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer
-DLOCALE -DCURSES_LOC="<curses.h>" -c -o lxdialog.o
lxdialog.c

make[1]: Leaving directory
/usr/src/kernel-source-2.2.18pre21/scripts/lxdialog'
make: *** [menuconfig] Error 2
--------- end of error message ---------
at first my hunch was that the ncurses was not
installed but when i checked it i had ...
ncurses-base, ncurses-bin and libncurses5 installed...
in my previous "errors" during `make menuconfig` i
would be able to solve problems by installed the
ncurses package...
is this more than an uninstalled package problem... or
its just that in the old version of debian i need to
install the some packages to get this right...
Thanks in advance!!!
Best Regards,
znah
