Re: ALSA & ESD

I think I forget to say some information about my computer, kernel, alsaversions....

I've the new IBM ThinkPad T30 with Intel AC82801CAM (ICH3) chipset. My kernel is the latest 2.4.19 and I use ALSA 0.9rc3 (I'm using unstable debian). When I do cat /proc/asound/oss/sndstat, it says to me :

Sound Driver:3.8.1a-980706 (ALSA v0.9.0rc3 emulation code)
Kernel: Linux ThinkPad-T30 2.4.19 #1 jeu oct 24 23:14:35 CEST 2002 i686
Config options: 0

Installed drivers:
Type 10: ALSA emulation

Card config:
Intel 82801CA-ICH3 at 0x1c00, irq 11

Audio devices:
0: Intel 82801CA-ICH3 (DUPLEX)

Synth devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

Midi devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

Timers:
7: system timer

Mixers:
0: mixer00

As you, can see, it says DUPLEX mode. I think my sound card is too recent to have fulduplex integreted in the driver. It's maybe why if ESD is started, I can't use /use/dev/dsp more than a time. I have too solution :
- use esddsp but then the sound plays slowly
- use esdctl standby, use my application and after resume esd if I can't redirect my appli throughout ESD....

What do you think about that ?

Thanks !

André
