Miz-urh-uh, -ee, -ih . . . . I grew up in southwestern Missouri, on or

or near a linguistic (or dialectical) boundary -- & my mother, my
brother, & I pronounced the state name in 3 different ways.
And then there's `Mizzou', chiefly for the state university in Columbia.
Mizzou seems to be a short form of /Mizzoor.../ . . . . No end to it.
