RE: make menuconfig



OK Colin, Thank you (see my previous where I did as you suggested -- I took
a chance with the syntax) and it has worked. I am now facing the menu.

Downgrade everything that depends on the newer libc6, except for
libdb1-compat. Downgrade libc6 to the version from stable, using dpkg
with the --force-overwrite and I think --force-depends-version flags.
Remove libdb1-compat.

(Downgrades aren't really supported, as you might gather ...)
