I would check the path, see where ssh-keygen is, maybe another copy of
it is being called from another location, if thats the case update your
$PATH and try again.

ouch thats old :) is that the non-free version of commercial ssh or is
that a self compiled one? any particular reason your using that instead
of openssh on potato?

the version of OpenSSH in potato(the original one, not the 3.x version)
is not vulnerable to any known  direct exploits as far as I know, the
more recent SSH vulnerabilities did not effect that version at all.
