I really don't think you'll need windoze on hda1, well...I know you don't.

I have done several tests and there is just the same where you put
windoze, if the partition is first, middle or last. If it's primary or
secondary doesn't matter either.

But you are right in a way, it's most common to have windoze on hda1, but
not nessesarry:)
