Here's the key info from dmsg:

Warning only 896MB will be used.
Use a HIGHMEM enabled kernel.
896MB LOWMEM available.

Do I need to compile a custom kernel to use more RAM?

I also see this:

Advanced speculative caching feature not present

Is that feature worthwhile and stable? If so, how do I activate it?
