CDRecored problems -Teac cd-w54e

I am having some problems with the Teac drive.  It seems to work the 
first time but then the drive bay locks and there is no way to open it. 
 Reboot required.  cdrdao unlock doesnt even work.

Any thoughts on this? Thanks.
