Re: 2.4.18 doesn't find my root device.



I don't use kernel images, except when initially installing a sysytem. 
I immediately recomple a kernel with options to support my devices. 
Unfortunately in this case someone decided IDE wasn't common enough to
warrant   making IDE support the default.  Bad decision, IMHO.
