I use IDE-SCSI emulation. What are the permissions on the devices.
Here are mine. Users can use cdparanoia as long as they are in the
cdrom group. Enjoy.
Generic SCSI Devices: (this is what cdparanoia tries to read from)
crw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 21, 0 Mar 14 16:51 /dev/sg0
crw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 21, 1 Mar 14 16:51 /dev/sg1
SCSI CD-ROM Devices: (this is what cdrecord, cdrdao try to use)
brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 11, 0 Mar 14 16:54 /dev/scd0
brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 11, 1 Mar 14 16:54 /dev/scd1
SCSI Disk Devices: (don't have SCSI disks, using ide-scsi for my DVD
and CD-ROM)
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 0 Mar 14 16:51 /dev/sda
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 1 Mar 14 16:51 /dev/sda1
