/tmp

how can make a bigger /tmp? Is there some way to link /tmp to another
directory on another partition. I have a huge /home partition but I ended
up using some software tthat requires a bigger /tmp than i anticipated
needing( next repartition I'll not make same mistake). I've tried
linking with ln and ln -s but neither work. Any suggestions?
