"Invalid archive signature" indicates that the file isn't a valid .deb.
Could you show the output of 'md5sum
/cdrom/pool/main/g/gtk+1.2/libgtk1.2-dev_1.2.10-11_i386.deb', please? It
should be "a22916b66ac2a51f0de5115aa5b851e5".
