ignoring one broken dependency

Hi,

I've just compiled and installed the exim MTA version 4.10, which isn't yet 
available as a debian package.

Now, I don't have any debian package that provides "mail-transport-agent", 
and apt-get won't install anything anymore :(


Is there a way to skip one dependency while still using the packaging system?
