Yeah, I (thought) I had it installed, but for whatever reason it
wasn't installed.

Here's what happens...

ursine:~# apt-get install j2re1.3
Reading Package Lists... Done

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely

the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
