So far no luck.  People have mentioned:

  FAI:
    Requires network, and only clones, doesn't install from
    scratch.

  PGI:
    Interactive only.
    
  autoinstall:
    Automates cloning an existing system not installing from
    scratch.

The cloning part of the process is already figured out.  What
I'm trying to automate is the initial install of the system
(which will then later be cloned).

Looks like the only answer is to write up a procedure, sit
somebody in front of a screen and have them hit "enter", "yes",
"enter", "yes", "enter", "yes", ....
