This is most likely because you have not assigned an IP to the domain in
your DNS zone entry.  Assuming you are using Bind 8 or 9, try putting
something like the following in your zone file:

   900    IN    A    24.69.90.171

The above is assuming that you want etalon.net to resolve to the same IP
as ns.etalon.net.  Don't forget to increment your serial number on the
zone file.
