Making a re-install image

Hi all,

Just wondering if there is such a thing for linux as Norton Ghost. I want
to be able to write a complete partition to one/more CD-Rs, and have
something like a floppy or a bootable CD that will re-install it byte by
byte back to my machine.

Anyone have a hint/clue/pointer?
