I tried both seperatly.

As suggested also by 'Neal', I just tried it... unsuccesfully...

With full ACPI support, pressing the power button for a short time doesnt give me any kernel message. But could that event be handled differently by the scripts located in /etc/acpi/ ?
Once again, here they are:
$ cat /etc/acpi/events/powerbtn
#...
event=button[ /]power
action=/etc/acpi/powerbtn.sh
$ cat /etc/acpi/powerbtn.sh
#!/bin/sh
# /etc/acpi/poweroff.sh
# Initiates a shutdown when the power putton has been
# pressed.
/sbin/init 0
The file /etc/acpi/poweroff.sh doesnt exist...
We're getting there, I can feel it!! :)
Thanks again for your help,
