conserving power with your desktop
Hi,
The problem is simple. I want to enable my desktop to go into a suspend
mode when it is not being used, and then wake up when I press any key on
the keyboard.
I do have some APM parameters enabled in my customized kernel, and I
have often seen the log message "kernel: apm: suspend was vetoed"
generated every 30 minutes when I am not using the computer.
I have read some of the documentation pertaining to this, but they all
talk about laptops. I have a fairly modern machine that I built last
year. It dual-boots Win 2K. Unfortunately, the video driver there
doesn't allow power management in Win 2K.
Any ideas on how I could get this to work?
Thanks,
Andy
