2 things :
1) Problem :
jabberd dies when run from the initscript
(it also doesn't clean up after itself)
Solution:
# apt-get install screen
# screen
# rm -f /var/run/jabber/jabber.pid ; jabberd

2) Problem :
Can't register.
Solution ;
Only "plain" auth seems to work.
Uncomment the line
<mod_auth_plain>./jsm/jsm.so</mod_auth_plain>
in /etc/jabber/jabber.xml
Other than that (and the lack of aim-t, etc, packages) jabber is quite
good. I am using gabber as the client and a coworker is using winjab
and my dad is using exodus. I have aim-t installed and use it all the
time with my other friends.
