Have you already downloaded the player from real.com?
I don't know why you're only getting a flashing blue screen,
but there are blue configuration dialogs that come up from time
to time during some installs. My guess is that the one in question
is looking for the tar file to be in /tmp or some such.
Now as to why the below is happening...
