address book in OpenLDAP 2.x(woody)

hi

i've tried this a couple times about a year ago and never
got anywhere, so last night i tried it again and again got
nowhere.

i've tried the guides here:

next thing im gonna try is:

i have the basic layout for the ldap server, taken from my
netscape directory server. the first site looks like it has
the best info, but even when copying the config line-for-line
ldap still spits back invalid format. the 2nd site seems to
be focused more on openldap 1 and i get more issues there
too.

if anyone has any other guides that has this info can you
pass it along!!
