yeah and theres no entry for the c80 on my system. i tried
both cups from woody and from cups.org. i did manage to find
a driver for it on linuxprinting.org but when i try to use
it all i get is a stack dump printed out -

tried following the directions here:
http://www.linuxprinting.org/cups-doc.html

i can use the generic epson stylus color driver but it
gives no color support on my c80, and the printing quality
is really low(thick white lines printed in the cups test
page).

ive given up on freebsd for now, no matter what i do it
doesn't detect my parallel port.

was expecting this to be easy judging by the 'perfect'
rating on the printer :(

tried compiling gs from woody but that depends on
gimp stuff which depends on the newer gtk..which
sends me to dependency hell ..sigh.

i guess i could move the printer to the other room
and plug it into a woody box there but i don't want
to if i can avoid it.

kinda scary, me having used linux/unix for 7 years
and can't get one of the most compadible linux
printers to work ....

i miss my deskjet 500..that was a good printer..
shouldn't of gave it away..it worked well in
debian slink..

thanks

nate
