After running pon, the output of /sbin/route is as follows:

[07/01/01 20:00] sewage:pts/2:~% /sbin/route
Kernel IP routing table

207.144.202.10  *               255.255.255.255 UH    0      0        0 ppp0
default         207.144.202.10  0.0.0.0         UG    0      0        0 ppp0

Obviously 207.144.202.10 is the IP address I am assigned.

Even if I try to ping myself, I get an error:
