Hi,

You could remove the telnetd package:

	dpkg --purge telnetd

Or, you could leave it intact, and edit /etc/inetd.conf,
commenting out the line that starts with 'telnet'. You should
then restart or reload inetd:

	/etc/init.d/inetd restart
