lyx - layout -> character

Hi!

I have the following weird problem with lyx 1.1.5 in unstable:
It just freezes when I open layout->character. It works with the same text
on two other machines, but freezes again if I redirect from those machines
to my display.

I suspect that this is a font problem, but I have no idea where to look at
for a start.
