There's one case you should consider: If you have to reinstall Windows for
some reason, it will probably overwrite the MBR. Then you need a Linux boot
floppy to boot into Linux and put your boot loader back in the MBR. A boot
floppy without a floppy drive isn't fun :)
But maybe you can write the boot floppy to a CD? Try if you can boot from it?
