Re: X in startup
I usually rename just the (in my case kdm) /etc/init.d/xdm into
/etc/init.d/xdm.bak. It mkes a lot easier to bring everything back into the
old status.
/etc/init.d/xdm stop will shutdown xdm without rebooting.
