I think I found something important about this problem.

It is the /var/log/gdm/:0.log of a crashed session.

But it is 29kiB large, thus I won't put it onto this mailing list.

It is available as http://www.deselaers.de/gdmlog

Here just the last few lines:

Fatal server error:

When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages.
This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log".
Please report problems to submit@bugs.debian.org.

What does this error mean to me?

thanks in advance
