Multiple workspaces with Sawfish and Gnome, session management and navigation

Hi.

I'm running woody, with its attendand Gnome packages. I use the Sawfish window manager, with 9 workspaces, with columns and rows both set to 1, as per the workspaces configuration tab under sawfish in the gnome control center.

This works fairly niceley, but there are two things I can't get quite right:

1) Session management
2) Keybindings to take me to each workspace directly.

1) The session management kinda works, but when I log in again, everything is always put on the first desktop. Also, sometimes it remembers the settings of my aterms, sometimes it don't...

I remember long ago I was using icewm-gnome and gnome, and the sessionmanagement was better. I like sawfish though, and can't use icewm due to some obscure focus bugs it has in pointer focus mode.

2) I can find options in the sawfish bit of gnome control center to take me to the previous, and next, workspaces, and have bound them to keys. I can't, however, find anything to go directly to desktop x, so I can bind them to M-C-x.

Help appreciated

Thanks
Neilen
